Discover the joy in cooking together with curated hands-on cooking sessions, each highlighting an ingredient or approach that inspires you to slow down, celebrate the season, and savour the goodness of life.

These private sessions are held in The Contemplative Cook's cozy home kitchen.

Wild Ramp Foraging + Spring Cheese Session

Monday, May 12th only


A peaceful walk through the forest, a deep dive into cheesemaking...Join me for an extra special session offered for a limited time only as we cook and create with the exquisite rhythm of the spring season.


In this session we'll explore the art of yogurt-making, and how that fresh yogurt can be fermented into a simple, delicious cheese, seasoned with spring's fresh, wild ramps.

 $195 + HST for a single person session

or

$149 + HST per person when booked in a pair!


The fee includes an artisanal breakfast snack + lunch, the cooking experience, the cost of ingredients, and the finished creation, lovingly packaged to take home with you.  Please review the cancellation policy below.

what to expect at a session

At the Contemplative Cook's kitchen we are all about creating a place and pace that helps you to slow down and disconnect from the usual busyness of the day.  There will be a hot cup of tea or latte welcoming you at your arrival, along with an artisanal spread to taste and enjoy, followed by some slow and steady cooking in the kitchen.  At the end of our session, we'll package up our creation to send home with you, to share with those you love.

Private hands-on cooking sessions are held in the Contemplative Cook's home kitchen, and on various week days.  Please inquire about date options.  We book well in advance!  


Private sessions are $149- $195 + HST per person depending, and run approximately 2.5 hours in length.  


The fee includes preparation for your arrival, an artisanal snack + lunch prepared just for you, the cooking experience, the cost of ingredients, and the finished creation, lovingly packaged to take home with you.

  • The theme of the sessions will vary depending on the season and your personal needs.  Feel free to reach out to discuss further, and see above for recipe offerings.  
  • Sessions are one-to-one, unless noted otherwise, meaning the session time is carved out just for you.  If you are looking for a small group event, please be in touch to discuss further.
  • All ages are welcome, including children.  Please tell us a bit about your child when you email us to confirm.
  • No cooking experience is necessary, and the style of mindfulness practice is gentle and easy.  Please reach out if you'd like to learn more.

Book a cooking session

Step One

Contact us to introduce yourself, inquire about a date and time, and your preferred cooking session recipe. Our seasonal menu is listed at the top of this page.  Not sure what to cook?  We'll happily chat with you more about your options.

Step Two

We will respond with a welcome, and to discuss date and ingredient availability, along with the cost of the session.  We may need to ask a few more questions to help us plan.  

Step Three

Send an e-transfer with the full cooking session amount to thecontemplativecook@gmail.com to secure your spot.  You will receive an email confirmation, with further details on the session.  


We look forward to receiving you as our guest!

Cancellation Policy

A lot goes into preparing for your visit, with the menu well underway over a week in advance!  Sessions that are cancelled with more than two week's notice will be reimbursed in full.  Otherwise, you are welcome to send someone in your place, we’d love to host them.  In the case of a medical emergency please reach out to chat more about rescheduling. Thank you for understanding!
